Cold Spring Harbor last year was marked as an "easy win" for almost every team, finishing 3-5. This year, they might not be so easy. Pre-season Ranked 10 this could be Cold Spring Harbor's breakout year. Keep in mind, they won the Long Island Championship just five years ago, they have the capabilities. The Seahawks (1-0) take the win from a returning, 14th ranked, Friends Academy Quakers (0-1).

Next Game
Cold Spring Harbor (1-0) will host the Malverne Mules (0-1) Thursday 9/16 at home.
Friends Academy (0-1) will take home field advantage to Floral Park on Thursday 9/16.

Coached by Joe Vito, the Roosevelt Rough Riders are superb. After a tough first round playoff exit last year to Clarke, the Rough Riders are out for redemption. They took out all their anger on Malverne (0-1) this week. Donte Colter rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries for Roosevelt (1-0). Erin Parker ran for 64 yards on nine carries and completed 3 of 6 passes for 36 yards. Teddy Santana scored on a 17-yard run. Cory Alexander ran for 36 yards on 10 carries.

Next Game
Malverne (0-1) will play under the lights on Thursday at Cold Spring Harbor (1-0) at 7pm.
Roosevelt (1-0) will host the Vikings of North Shore (1-0) Thursday at 4:30pm.

Mike Castellano scored the game-winning touchdown pass on a 3rd-and-12 pass from Andrew Bashford on the opening play of the fourth quarter to lead East Rockway (1-0) in Conference IV. On the opening play of the game, Castellano ran 82 yards for the score, and on the ensuing kickoff, Ronell Jones of Floral Park (0-1) answered with an 80-yard kick return TD.

After upsetting Roosevelt first round of the playoffs Clarke (0-1) took a tough loss to the 4th seeded North Shore (1-0). Either Clarke isn't what they used to be or North Shore is a powerhouse, after all they did move DOWN from conference three. North Shore recorded 323 total yards of offense, and held Clarke to 24 yards in the first half with 3 sacks. Evan Vandoros had 212 total yards, including a 77-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Next Game
Clarke (0-1) will be hosting Mineola (1-0) also on Thursday at 4:30pm
We'll see how good North Shore (1-0) really is when they take on Roosevelt (1-0) at home on Thursday.

Well this is a surprise. Locust Valley (1-0) absolutely destroyed the Baymen of Oyster Bay (0-1) earning their first victory of the season. Locust Valley has to recoup after loosing all-county running back Marc Mauro, but I think they've found their man in Alexander Minicozzi. He ran 15 times for 234 yards and three touchdowns. With a halftime score of 27-0 this game wasn't even close.

Next Game
Locust Valley (1-0) takes on Seaford (1-0), Thursday night under the lights on Seaford's turf.
Oyster Bay (0-1) will be playing in the inauguration of Island Trees' (0-1) new turf field on Thursday at 4:30pm

Mineola (1-0) started the season on fire, nearly holding Valley Stream North (0-1) to nearly none yards. Then, Valley Stream North brought it leading to Henry's 19 yard touchdown run. No doubt about it Valley Stream North is big but Mineola brought it on speed, rushing the unexperienced quarterback,  Anthony Cobucci every play. Steve Napolitano led all rushers with 173 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries for Mineola. Valley Stream North made it close after two fourth quarter touchdowns with consecutive two point conversions. Then on the last drive by Mineola's Nico Pantelides scored on a 17 yard pass from Clarkin.

Next Game
Valley Stream North (0-1) will take on the East Rockaway Rocks (1-0) at home on Thursday after school.
Mineola (1-0) will be facing the Clarke Rams (0-1) at Clarke at 4:30pm on Thursday.

Ranked 24th in New York State the Vikings (1-0) scored 40 points and were "disappointed". That show the caliber of Play they strive for. After winning the Conference four Long Island Championship against Amityville, their goals have increased. Not only do they think they could win the championship they also think they deserve the Rutgers Cup. With a winning streak of 34 against Nassau County Opponents. Considering Island Trees (0-1) is not what they used to be without Anthony Wrightington, the outcome was predicted.

Next Game
Island Trees (0-1) will be hosting Oyster Bay (0-1) on their new Turf Field on Thursday at 4:30pm
Seaford (1-0) hopes to follow through with their win streak against Locust Valley (1-0) who are coming off a huge 47-26 victory to Oyster Bay (1-0) Thursday Night at 7pm at home.

That's all for this week folks! Check back for East Rockaway's Game Preview and Week 2 Recaps!
